To be an Inquirer is something which is very sacred. We are not seekers—seekers collect, claim, gather, study books, listen to get motivated, for getting something out for themself.
Themself, the ego—the me—wants to get and experience sensual, non-sensual, supernatural feelings. The ego wants powers, self-centered motivation. Even after understanding the truth, the concern for the person is obtaining and acquiring something for the tiny little ego.
So seekers wander around religious fields, do tantra, mantra and yoga, meeting the so called liberators or enlightened person not to learn, not to understand, but to acquire, to hold onto, to possess, which they can brandish around.
The Inquirer:
The only concern of the Inquirer is to understand the truth and discard the truth from false. Like a candle in the darkness. After lighting the candle, we do not ask ourselves, “What shall we do with the light?” A lit candle has dispelled the darkness. Likewise after understanding the truth, we don't ask ourselves what to do with understanding. As you live in the light of a candle, you live in the light of the truth you understand.
Inquirer finds the nature of the truth and lives in light of the truth. So, inquiry is something very sacred. Seeking is a worldly way. Seekers want to gain. Motivation of seeking is related to egoistic tendencies to own, to possess, to dominate, to compete, to compare. Enquirer lives in the light of the spirit, the soul, the atman (Sanskrit word for ‘the soul’).
